to the Bards of Bardstown website!
The
objective of this website is to establish a communications medium for "all"
members of the Bard family. This site was created by and is
supported by
the African-American Bards who are the descendants of a slave (Mary Bard) owned
by James, one of the sons of William Bard who was the son of Archibald Bard. With this said, please know
that we want to embrace the sons and daughters of all the descendants of
Archibald Bard. At this time, it is unknown and has not been proven via official records nor DNA testing, that there is in fact a blood line between
these two Bard lineages. However, we do know that we share a common
element in our history. Therefore, the African-American Bards of
Bardstown, Kentucky graciously and willingly, extend our hand to all Bards of
both lineages in hope that together we can create a stronger understanding and
acceptance of one another and our shared history.
